Bunny Cupcakes

Don’t you just wanna join in with this little cupcake feast?

Over at the Lili of the Valley challenge blog the theme is ‘Birthdays’
Nice & Easy so I hope all of you will have a go this week.

I’ve made another Twisted Easel card,
the only trouble I’ve got with them is
making a decent pic of the finished card as it is such an awkward shape!

The cute stamp is called Bunny Cupcakes and is coloured with Copics,
the sentiment is from the new clear additions by LotV and can be found here.

I just had to use my new Ribbon border punch [Martha Stewart]
.. my new aquisition from the NEC.

Thanks a million for looking,

Hugs, Marlena x

Mini Canvas

I’ve had such fun working on this mini canvas the last few days
when I had a spare minute or two..

I got these little canvasses from a pound-shop [2 in a pack with stands]
and wanted to make something to sit on the desks at work.
Working out how to cram a stamp,
sentiment and embellishments onto a 9 x 7cm workspace
was an experience to say the least..
but am pleased with the result :)

I started by distressing the canvas and then
tried stamping directly onto it with staz-on,
but eventho I packed the back, [the hollow bit] with some cardboard,
it still wouldn’t stamp fully…
So back to the original way of stamping on CS and coloured the gorgeous
‘Love Grows’ image by Lili of the Valley with Copics.

Cut out the image and stuck to the canvas with Rangers Glue N Seal,
a left over from the Tim Holtz class last Feb.
I then applied the same medium all over the canvas and let dry.

Stamped the sentiment the same way and added to the canvas,
when the sealant was completely dry
I misted it all with Rangers Perfect Pearls,
that is what gives that fabby golden glow.

[click the pic for full view]

To finish I used some sticky gems and flowers from stash.

As it happens, the current challenge over at the LOTV Challenge blog is
‘Peach & Green’
you still have a couple of days to hop on over and join the fun..
There is a yummie prize from Wild Orchid Crafts up for grabs.

Thanks for your visit today,

Big hugs,  Marlena x

Colour with bleach

I’ve had such fun experimenting with this card!

Still had my ‘distress’ head on so.. when I seen a post in
Cards Only [Dutch magazine]
about using bleach for colouring,
[only used it for backgrounds & stamping before]
I thought to give it a try.

Now, we only had lemon flavored Domestos in the house,
so don’t know if that is why my image turned out a bit yellow,
but hey.. I kinda like it :)

For those of you that can’t get the magazine or can read Dutch,
I’ve taken some step by step pics while making the image
and will show you them in a post later tonight or tomorrow
as I’m about to shoot off for a girly crafting evening over at Sonia’s!!

.oOo.

My card is showing ‘Feather Boa’ by Lili of the Valley
and the sketch I have used is challenge 84
from the LotV Challenge blog

I have pleated the DP in 5 places
and raised the edges to give it some dimension.
Make sure when you do this, that your paper has got enough length
to accommodate the amount of pleats you want.

After the card was near enough completed
I decided to ‘pimp’ the image a little more with
Distress stickles [Shattered Straw]
to give the Boa and Bow a bit more umpf.

Gorgeous blooms and foliage are by Prima,
TH mini paper clip and bronze heart from stash..
Sentiment is an golden oldie from Hero Arts.

As I’ve used ‘Hearts & Flowers’ I’m entering this card over at CCT

Thanks everso much for looking and any comments you might leave.

Have a fabulous evening,

Hugs,

Marlena

Back with another card to show you featuring
the lovely Molly Harrison fairy “Destiny’s Moon

She is an absolute dream to colour and looks so classy!

Copics:

Papers are from ‘All Girls’ stack by MME,
matted with Perfectly Plum SU! cardstock

I’ve got my sewing machine out again and went around all the layers.
Flowers are by Prima and used an EK succes swirl punch.

The sketch used is by Sketch ‘n Stash,
Loved working with this sketch
and think it suits Destiny to a ‘T’

At ‘Make it Colourful‘ the challenge is to blend Blue & Purple in your colouring.
The wings and dress lent itself perfect for this.

The inside is decorated too,
using my bargain Go Kreate alpha die ‘Lingfield’ that I picked up for £6!

Border punch by SU! and Marianne Design heart dies.

As there are alot of challenges out there with a ‘love’ theme,

Hello and thank you for visiting me today!

The card on show today is one of 4 I’ve made, but the only one I can show for now..

and following the sketch from Sketch Saturday

I forgot to take my camera in my room to take a pic with the daylight lamp,
so sorry for the naf photo..
but IRL the card is very 3D with the nestability border die,
sparkle and flowers.. it just didn’t show very well.

Papers are by DCWV, Prima flowers and BG sticky pearls finish off the card.
Copics used:
Blue, BG 10, 11, 72,
Skin E00, 11, 13,
Browns: E40, 41,42,43,44,25,70

Too many punches?

Don’t know if I have gone a bit overboard with the punches on this card..
but I kinda couldn’t stop when I started playing! :)

I seen a video not long ago by Becca on Right Angle punching..
It shows how to make borders with just a corner punch,
[The two horizontal borders underneath the image]

..you can find the video here.

It was a bit of fiddling about as I’m not the most precise in my cutting,
but I’m quite pleased with it.

A little close up on how many layers I actually punched..

Told you I’d gone overboard.. lol!

The gorgeous little fairy is ofcourse from Lili of the Valley,
finally got around to using
my already coloured image from the other week.

No patterned paper has been used, didn’t need to with all the busy-ness going on!

Added some sticky pearls and sentiment to finish.

***

So.. do you think I’ve gone too mad with the punches??

Thanks so much for looking, have a great evening!

Hugs,

Fairy Miracles..

As promised I’m back to show you the finished card that was on my desk in the previous post.

The easel fold is still one of my favorite card shapes,
especially when like this card the sentiment would have made the front panel too cramped!

I’ve used the lovely Gwen from the Molly Harrison collection by
Lili of the Valley

She is coloured with Copic marker pens and touched up with shimmer H2O’s.
Here is a close up of Gwen,
hopefully you will be able to see the glimmer and sparkle better..

Isn’t she simply gorgeous?

The papers are MME ‘All Boy’,
used my new Nellie Snellen doily dies and
made a little dragonfly embellishment by stamping some wings,
cut them out, coloured & layered them,
finish it off by using pearl gems for the body.
Sentiment is from the LotV Inspirational set and can be found here.

My card also fits in with the following challenges:

Copic Creations: Anything New – NS Die,
Flutterby Wednesday: Open Theme,
Spoonfull of Sugar: Blue & Green,
Papertake Weekly: Ribbons & Pearls

***

I’ll leave you with a quick reminder of my Distressed Love Blog Candy
It is open until tomorrow evening.
You can find all the details in THIS POST

Have a great evening all,

Love is in the little things..

Love really is in the air..
What with Valentines just around the corner,
and that is what I tried to show you in my card this evening.

This uber cute stamp is from the new release of Lili of the Valley
and is ‘oh so versatile’
Great for Valentines, birthdays,
anniversary’s and even Christmas!!

I had an idea of what I wanted to do with my card,
which was making a cutout frame on the front panel of my card
but I got away with my enthusiasm..
and cut the image way too small so I made an inverted frame instead,
you might see it a bit better in the next pic.

I cut the nestie scalloped frame and a slightly smaller red frame
and mounted ontop of the image with 3D pads.

The paper roses are scrunched up circles fastened with a black brad,
love these kind of flowers!

No particular challenge for this card..
Just plain old pleasure fun!! lol

Have a great Tuesday all..

Big hugs,
